Wedding Ceremony
Pastor Jofrey
Dearly beloved we are gathered here
today to unite this man and this women in the bond of
marriage. Marriage is to be a permanent relationship of one man and one woman
who are freely and totally committed to each other as companions for life.
The home is built upon love, love is
patient and kind; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at
wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends.
Marriage is a companionship which
involves mutual commitment and responsibilities. You will share alike in the
responsibility and the joys of life. When companions share a sorrow the sorrow
is halved, and when they share a joy the joy is doubled.
Marriage symbolizes the intimate
sharing of two lives, yet this sharing must not diminish, but should enhance
the individuality of each partner. A marriage that lasts is one that is
continually developing and in which each person is growing in understanding the
other.
Let your hearts be truly a refuge
and safe haven for each other. Be generous in expressing your love. Be open to
receive love from each other. And also remember to be flexible and forgiving of
one another. Let this sacred union be a catalyst that transforms you into the
expression of your highest selves.
Keeping in mind
that your relationship is alive and ever-changing. Your love for each
other is a miracle and a blessing. It will always invite you to grow, learn,
expand and blossom. How you regard each other and how you behave toward each
other, will determine the destiny of your union. It is your creation together. It is your
sacred responsibility.
Therefore, everyday take the time to
love and show gratitude towards one another. Be kind to your relationship. Be
compassionate, supportive, and inspirational, as well as helpmates..playmates..and lovers.
Lead with your hearts and take the time nurture what you have in the hardest of
times. Your precious and blessed union is lovely in its innocence. It is mighty
in its strength and abundant with possibilities. It belongs to you both.
A Strong marriage
consists of four things: communication,
trust, love, and forgiveness.
_________ will you
take ________ to be your wife, will you commit yourself to her happiness and
self-fulfillment as a person, and will you promise to love, honor, and serve
her in sickness and in health, in adversity and prosperity, and to be true and
loyal to her, so long as you both shall live?
________ will you
take _________ to be your husband, will you commit yourself to her happiness
and self-fulfillment as a person, and will you promise to love, honor, and
serve her in sickness and in health, in adversity and prosperity,
and to be true and loyal to her, so long as you both shall live?
Or,
I ______ take
thee_______ to be my wife to have and to hold from this day forth until death
do us part, to love will all my heart all that is with in me. You are my best
friend, my heart I give you this day.
I ______ take
thee_______ to be my husband to have and to hold from this day forth until
death do us part, to love will all my heart all that is with in me. You are my
best friend, my heart I give you this day.
May I have the rings
please? The ring is a circle and as such is the symbol of the sun, the earth,
and the universe, of wholeness of perfection and of peace. These unbroken
circles represent the wholeness and completeness of your love and affection for
one another. The rings that you give and receive this day are symbols of shared
love into which you enter as husband and wife, as lover, as companion, and as
friends.
It is with great hope
that your love will be as eternal as the sea that surrounds these islands.
Those who love the sea can feel the heartbeat of life as the sun rises and
sets, the tides ebb and flow and the stars fill the heavens. For the beauty,
the peace and the serenity this is
“___________with this
ring I pledge my life and love to you, from this day forward.”
Exchange of Leis
In the culture and
tradition of
We have heard the
vows that you have made to each other and now may your love and understanding
grow with the years. May you seek each
other’s happiness, and recognize each other’s needs. May yours always be a shared adventure, rich
with moments of serenity as well as excitement, vital with problems that test,
as well as successes that lift, and marked by a sense of personal freedom as
well as mutual responsibility. May you find in each
other companionship as well as love, understanding as well as well as
compassion, challenge as well as agreement.
May your home be an island where the pressures of a cluttered world can
be sorted out and brought into focus, where accumulated tensions can be released
and understood, where personal needs do not tower over concern for each other,
where the immediate does not blur more distant goals, and where the warmth of
humor puts life’s trials into perspective. Above all, may you find a richer meaning and
joy in the high adventure of lifelong loving and learning together.
Our best wishes to
you both for many happy years together, with all the rewards of a good, loyal,
qualitative married life.
